Contributing

Contributions are welcome. This project is intended to stay lightweight and dependency-free while remaining practical for responsive browser testing.

How to contribute

  1. Fork the repository.
  2. Create a feature branch for your change.
  3. Make your updates with a clear, focused scope.
  4. Test the relevant behavior before submitting your work.
  5. Open a pull request with a short explanation of the change.

Project goals

Keep changes aligned with the project’s purpose:

  • responsive device previews
  • realistic browser/device emulation
  • simple Chrome extension behavior
  • reliable cookie/session carry-over for authenticated site testing

Coding expectations

  • prefer simple, maintainable code
  • avoid unnecessary dependencies
  • keep changes scoped to the feature or bug being addressed
  • document behavior changes when relevant

Running locally

Install the project dependencies:

npm install

Then follow the local setup instructions in INSTALLATION.

Reporting issues

When filing a bug or feature request, include:

  • what you expected to happen
  • what happened instead
  • browser version
  • site URL or reproduction steps
  • any relevant screenshots or console output

If you are unsure about the expected behavior or implementation direction, open an issue first so the change can be discussed before a large patch is prepared.
