Overview

Aninag Mobile is a dependency-free Chrome extension for previewing a website across phone, tablet, and laptop viewport sizes.

It is designed for responsive testing and QA workflows where you need to check how a page behaves across common device dimensions without leaving the browser. The extension opens a realistic device preview with the selected browser chrome and device user-agent, making it easier to validate layout and functionality in context.

What it does

  • previews a page at phone, tablet, and laptop sizes
  • swaps the user-agent to match the chosen device
  • shows the browser chrome and frame for a more realistic mobile view
  • carries existing logged-in cookies into the preview session
  • supports a floating desktop phone companion for a frameless experience

Why it is useful

This tool helps developers and testers quickly inspect:

  • responsive layout behavior
  • mobile breakpoints and viewport sizing
  • authenticated flows in a mobile context
  • browser-specific rendering differences across device profiles

Why we built this

We built Aninag Mobile to make responsive testing simpler, faster, and more realistic for people who need to validate websites across real device sizes without the cost or friction of a large tooling stack.

The project is completely open source and will remain open source forever. Our goal is to keep it transparent, community-driven, and freely usable for developers, designers, and QA teams who want a practical way to test mobile and desktop layouts in Chrome.

Browser support

The extension is intended for use with Chrome and Chromium-based browsers that support the extension APIs and native messaging flow used for launching the desktop companion.
